Rapper Skepta becomes traditional chef in Nigeria

Very proud of his African origins, the Anglo-Nigerian rapper Skepta has just been appointed traditional chief in Nigeria. He receives this nomination from the Ogun community, to which his parents belong.

Skepta knows the values and traditions of Niger well despite being born and raised in England. Born into Nigerian parents, he received throughout his youth the values Ogun, the community of these parents. It is this same community that elevated the 35-year-old rapper to the rank of traditional chief in a traditional ceremony. He thus received the title of “Amuludun of Odo Aje“, Which literally means“ The Chief Entertainer of Odo Aje (the Oguns) ”. with the BBC reveals to us that “The Ogun community elevates people to the rank of leaders in recognition of their contribution to the well-being of its members, which Skepta has done through entertainment.”
