American rapper A$AP Rocky takes the helm of the avant-garde partnership between PUMA and Formula 1. He has been named creative director, preparing for an international design role that will impact all future races.
Earlier this year, the German sportswear giant announced a multi-year deal with Formula 1, which will see PUMA distribute exclusive footwear, apparel and accessories on and off the track. A$AP Rocky will lead the collaboration, designing collections sold on race day. The first will debut at the Las Vegas Grand Prix in November, revealing a first outdoor look.
Initial images show Rocky wearing a black track jacket with orange linear accents featuring the PUMA and Formula 1 logos on the chest. Collaborative badges adorn the sleeves while coordinating bottoms, handprint-inspired gloves and multi-colored PUMA “Inhale” sneakers complete the look. Rocky also introduces cropped hoodies with built-in face shields in red, black, gray and orange hues, paired with contrast-stitched denim, graffiti-print tees and beaded balaclavas.
